8 Tips for Planning a Boho Inspired First Trip Around the Sun Birthday Party
We had the honor of travelling to Lake of the Ozarks over the weekend for a fun “First Trip Around the Sun” themed birthday party. The party theme was perfectly curated from the matte balloon garland to the cake. The party was right up our alley with its clean boho aesthetic! This Mama knew what she wanted and she really made the vibe come to life.

First birthday’s are a BIG deal. It’s a time to celebrate a year filled with love, growth, milestones and family as we commemorate our little one’s first trip around the sun. So with that said, it’s time to immerse ourselves in nature, neutrals, and embrace laid- back vibes to create a whimsical celebration like no other!
Here’s our 8 tips on how to plan the perfect Boho theme “First trip Around the Sun” birthday party.
Tip 1: Set the Boho Theme: Embrace natural elements, earthy tones, and free-spirited charm for the party theme. Think sunshine, outdoors, wildflowers, and rustic wooden accents. You can curate your elements around the gender of the little one. For a little boy, I’d focus on neutral colors with orange and yellow accents, outdoor activities, and balloon décor. Let your creativity bloom and set the stage for a Boho adventure!
Tip 2: Invite with Style: Purchase enchanting invitations featuring delicate illustrations, dreamy and bohemian patterns. Include playful language and invite guests to join in celebrating the journey of your little one's first year under the sun. In leu of cards ask guest to considering brining a book with a personalized message for your little one. This not only helps encourage learning through literature, but also plays as a keepsake you can one day pass along… or it is just me? Will I be the only Millennial Mom sending her kids off with a box of sentimental keepsakes when they are grown? Either way, I love the idea of a $7 book over a card you throw in the trash.
